Do you ever think about how pleasant the world would be if
we all stopped to love ourselves and each other just a little bit more? I do - all
of the time. Over the summer I was thinking about how much better I would
feel if I took every negative thought or situation and turned them into
positive ones. I decided to dedicate these past weeks to bettering myself and it wasn’t
easy. Through this new beginning I practiced loving myself more, being grateful,
and really appreciating the people in
my life. Tbh there are still days when this seems like the hardest thing in the
world, but when I follow through with this practice I feel so good!
I’m not a religious person, by any means. I was raised
catholic, but have not been practicing since freshman year of high school. Yet one of my favorite things to read
are books about Buddhism. This summer I tried something new and read books by Christian author, Shauna Niequist. Her books are wonderful if you’re looking for
a light read that isn’t too religious. Wanting to be a kinder person is one of the things that attracts me to
these books; they highlight kindness,
self-love, and gratitude (which we could all use a little more of in our lives).
The blogs I follow are in a way similar to the books I read
as they are both uplifting and full of love. Below are links to five blogs written
by women who remind and inspire me daily to be a kinder person.
