NASTY WOMAN
9:56 PM
Last week was especially hard for many Americans – including
myself. My heart felt like it was continuously breaking for those around me. I
usually stay clear of posting my thoughts on anything that has to do with
politics or religion. Not out of fear, but for the simple fact that I don’t like
arguing with people. Last week I was angry about the outcome of this election. I
couldn’t understand why people voted
for someone who degrades women, puts down different races, makes fun of people
with disabilities, and wants to take away certain rights (which will set us
back as a society). Say what you will about Hillary, but she represents a lot
of things that I stand for. I care about children, equality, and women’s rights..
so this election did affect me.
I understand that many people didn’t like either candidate
and that’s fine. But it makes me sad that some people don’t understand why a
good chunk of America is angry right now. Let us grieve. Let us be angry. Let
us forgive you in our own time. This isn’t about whose candidate lost – so stop
telling others to “quit being a crybaby.” This is so much bigger than you. As for me, I will continue to support
those around me and stand up for them in their time of need.
The sign above was created by me for a local Trump protest in Toledo this past weekend.
My favorite #GirlBoss created this bag a few weeks before the election - 100% of the proceeds went to Planned Parenthood, so I had to buy one. They're now currently sold out, but there is a waitlist for those interested.
